Votorantim Agroindústria operates through Citrovita, one of the world's largest producers of orange juice concentrate. In 2010, a joint venture agreement was signed with Citrosuco, giving rise to the largest global producer of orange juice. The combined business will represent 35% of the global market share.

The European Commission approved the companies' merger of their orange juice businesses without restraint. The merger must still be approved by the CADE, the Brazilian antitrust agency, in order to be definitively completed..

Citrovita operates at all stages of production, from seedling planting to the export of the juice in specially equipped ships. All of its productive assets are located in the State of São Paulo: three plants (Araras, Matão and Catanduva) and 16 farms. Production capacity is 90 million boxes of oranges a year, which corresponds to 390,000 tons of juice.

In 2010, a new boiler capable of running on sugar cane bagasse, orange bagasse and other types of biomass went into operation, allowing the company to choose the input that provides the best combination of availability, yield and cost. By 2012, Citrovita foresees replacing the energy matrix at its three production units.
