The history of the Votorantim Group begins in 1918, in the interior of the State of São Paulo, when Portuguese immigrant Antonio Pereira Ignacio takes on Fábrica de Fiação e Tecelagem (Spinning and Weaving Mill), in Votorantim (a small district at the time), Sorocaba. Sociedade Anonyma Fabrica Votorantim, a company that was the harbinger of Brazilian industrialization, was thus created.
In the following decades the business branched out, and now, in its third generation of the Ermírio de Moraes family, Votorantim is a Brazilian corporate group with global operation in industrial, financial and new businesses services. This is a history of work, an enterprising spirit, responsible corporate conduct, faith in the country, the constant quest for innovative solutions for continuous growth and competence to reconcile the interests of the group and those of the family.
