The Votorantim Development System (SDV) is a group of actions that together promote, sustain and accelerate employee development. It was structured according to the professional profile that the Group wishes to have, and it is founded on the values and strategies of Votorantim's businesses.
When it was created, the SDV was only intended for leaders: it was the Votorantim Leadership System (SLV). In 2007, it evolved and started involving other functional levels as well.
Among the SDV's main objectives are promoting the ongoing dissemination of the Group's Values (its style and way of operating), developing a culture focused on managing human capital, and ensuring the necessary number of people with a profile to fit the Group's growth plans.
One of the main tools that the SDV uses to attain its objectives is the Assessment Cycle, through which the company evaluates the performance of its professionals and their development prospects. The process stimulates self reflection and constructive dialogue among those who lead and those who are led, and it ensures greater transparency in that dialogue.
An Individual Development Plan was outlined following the survey conducted in the Assessment Cycle, and it will indicate, among other items, the training necessary for professionals to develop their skills.
