The Votorantim Development System (SDV, in Portuguese) is a set of actions that together promote, sustain and accelerate employee development. It was structured according to the professional profile that the Group wishes to have, and it is based on Votorantim's values and business strategies.
At the beginning, the SDV was only intended for leaders: it was called Votorantim Leadership System (SLV, in Portuguese). However, in 2007, it expanded and started including other functional levels as well.
The main objectives of SDV include promoting the ongoing dissemination of the Group's Values (its style and way of operating), developing a culture of management of human resources and excellence in operations focusing on results; allowing the best use of human capital; and guaranteeing the necessary number of people with the profile to fit the Group's growth plans.
One of the main tools used in the SDV to reach its objectives is the Assessment Cycle, through which the company evaluates the performance of its professionals and their development prospects. The process stimulates the self-reflection and a constructive between leaders and employees, and ensures more transparency in these relations.
An Individual Development Plan is outlined based on the data collected in the Assessment Cycle, indicating, among other things, which trainings are necessary for professionals to develop their skills.
