The Votorantim Group is classified as Investment Grade by the risk rating agencies in recognition of the solidity of its businesses, management model and its corporate governance and transparency policies. In 2009, Standard & Poor's confirmed its BBB rating and Moody's reaffirmed its Baa3 rating, which they have both maintained since 2007. BBB grade was also granted by Fitch Ratings in 2006 and confirmed in 2009 as BBB-.

Votorantim is the unique Brazilian private company rated by the world's three major risk rating agencies.

Investment Grade, or classification of investments, provides the Group with a competitive advantage for accessing the international capital markets so that it can continue to fund its growth plans. According to the agencies, the classifications represent the following conditions:

  • Standard & Poor's – Note BBB: adequate capacity to pay its financial commitments;
  • Fitch Ratings – Note BBB: adequate credit risk compared with other issuers or issues in the same country;
  • Moody's – Note Baa3: average investment grade.
