With a fully integrated production process – aluminum, nickel and zinc mining and metallurgy operations – Votorantim Metals ensures efficiency and competitive prices for its quality products. The company is positioned among the six largest global producers of zinc, it is the leading Latin American nickel-producing company, and it is the Brazilian market leader in primary aluminum.

It operates four industrial facilities in Brazil and seven of its own mines, located in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Goiás. Abroad, its zinc operations include the Cajamarquilla refinery and a shareholder stake in Companhia Mineradora Milpo in Peru, four metallurgy operations in the United States, and one in China.

Doubling zinc production capacity from 160,000 to 320,000 tons/year should be concluded at the Cajamarquilla plant by the start of 2010. Another goal of this project is to increase capacity to 1 million tons of zinc as of 2012, consolidating its position among the leading companies worldwide in the metal sector. Another project, to be undertaken in 2010, will expand aluminum production capacity from 475,000 to 570,000 tons per year.

Concern with sustainable growth has led the Company to generate nearly 70% of the electricity consumed by its industrial facilities. It develops its own technologies and mining studies, basing its activities on responsible environmental management, social and cultural investments, and safety.
