In Brazil, the company operates four industrial plants and seven mining and processing facilities. Overseas, the company boasts industrial plants in Peru (Cajamarquilla), USA and China (USZinc); a mining exploration unit in Peru (Milpo); business offices in the USA, China and Austria; and mining exploration offices in Argentina, Bolivia, Canada, Colombia and Mexico.

Year 2010 was marked by strong growth in domestic demand and recovery in international prices for nonferrous metals, which had been significantly impacted in 2009 by reduced demand. The competitiveness of Votorantim Metais (VM) was enhanced by 80% self-sufficiency in energy in Brazil as well as by integrated mining and metal works operations.

The continuous concern with sustainable growth has led the Company to generate 81% of the energy consumed by its industrial facilities. It develops its own technologies and mining studies, basing its activities on responsible environmental management, social and cultural investments, and safety.
