The Votorantim Institute – an Overview

The Votorantim Institute was founded in 2002 to evaluate the Votorantim Group´s social investments. The decision to create it was made to strengthen the synergies among the companies within the Group, identify and take advantage of opportunities to create value for society and promote efforts focused on a common cause: young people. It currently operates within the area of Corporate Social Responsibility and encourages good internal sustainability principles and practices.

The programs oriented towards young people are described as “paths”. By creating paths to the future, the Institute suggests ways ahead and offers the young people opportunities in the fields of Education, Work, Culture and Sports. It also helps to reinforce concepts of human rights through the VIA program to protect children and adolescents and encourages those with outstanding talents through its projects in the Geração Atitude Program.

Education Path

Education: raising the level of schooling so that young people can continuously develop through high quality education.

Work Path

Work: helping young people to have access to and enter the job market, respecting their vocations and interest in building a professional career.

Culture Path

Culture: increasing young people's access to artistic experiences in all cultural areas in all regions of Brazil through the Votorantim Program of Cultural Democratization.

Sports Path

Sports: educating young people through sporting activities with an educational focus, training social activists and increasing infrastructure.

VIA – Supporting the Rights of Children and Adolescents

VIA – A program which supports the Law Protecting the Rights of Children and Adolescents: strengthening the protection network and supporting the Municipal Committees which oversee the Law Protecting the Rights of Children and Adolescents.

Geração Atitude Program

Geração Atitude: providing opportunities and financial support to young people with outstanding potential and initiative who are identified through projects supported by the Votorantim Group in order to help them implement their individual life plan or highly successful enterprises, based on their wishes, vocations and talents.
