The Votorantim Group commenced its internationalization process in 2001 with the acquisition of cement assets in North America. Since then, investments overseas have multiplied, both through the acquisition of companies and through the installation of assets in the areas of sales and logistics. Nowadays Votorantim operates directly in 12 countries. Around 40% of the revenues from Votorantim’s industrial area originate from exports or are generated abroad, and more than 60% of these are dollar indexed. Exports to over 200 countries are growing year by year. In 2005, revenues with exports attained approximately US$ 2.1 billions.
